The journey is far from over. In fact, in many ways, it’s just beginning. It has been nearly two and a half years since Sengoku Dynasty first brought its captivating blend of open-world RPG, settlement-building and survival to Early Access. On the road to version 1.0, the console versions and beyond, the game has seen a steady stream of major updates, such as 'Mono No Aware' or 'Bushido', introducing new gameplay systems and fresh content to this popular adventure in feudal Japan.

Yet with today's release of the free 'Kanata' update on PC and consoles, development team Superkami and publisher Toplitz Productions raise the bar once again, making the updates released until now feel like a mere prelude.

True to its name and roughly translated as 'far away' or 'beyond', the ‘Kanata’ update pushes the boundaries of Nata Valley. It introduces a vast new subtropical archipelago to the Southwest, spanning three distinct regions filled with exotic flora, unique fauna, fresh building options and a new threat: organized pirates, challenging your instincts as an explorer, fighter or builder.

‘Kanata’ will also include a variety of gameplay additions and improvements. From slicker combat to improved spiritualism with more distinct Shrine effects up to improvements to crafting and the village simulation, Sengoku Dynasty has more depth than ever before. This is nowhere more visible than with the overhauled village progression: The bell tower at the center of each settlement now is available in seven unlockable tiers, with each tier giving the player new options for further village development. Together with the new ability to craft the alarm bells needed for the towers yourself, instead of having to rely on the abbot, who controlled the supply until now, your options for strategic growth of your villages reach a new high.
